About to have this beauty on my desk — along with 2GB Ram upgrade to my powerbook.
Also, just purchased TextMate and Transmit — its a great setup.
Anyway, in California until monday night — i’ll try and be more faithful in writing.

Congrats! I don't see how I lived without Textmate or my Mac for that matter. I ran Windows machines until about a year ago when I finally broke down and bought me a 17" power book. It's the best thing since sliced bread!

RE: Stephen - you need to get an iSight camera, they are pretty nice for video conferencing. It was a choice between a new iMac or this upgrade - and this seemed to be the best upgrade for me right now.
RE: Justin - Yeah, the more I work in Textmate, the more I love it. I wouldn't have known about it until Stephen brought it to my attention. He's my source to keep up with things. I agree, my powerbook (again, I first got to really play on one when visiting with Stephen) has been one of my best purchases! It was well worth the money. Of course, they did come out with the faster processor / higher screen resolution shortly after I bought mine - ha - but thats ok.
Pretty excited, Ram / Screen should be here by the end of the week. Now I just have to find a place for my old Sony 21 inch CRT monitor (man I will be saving some space!).

Well, thanks to super quick shipping from Mac Connection, I received my screen and iSight at lunchtime today. I am impatient and therefore setup my screen at work to use for the rest of the day. This thing is BEAUTIFUL (especially the brightness factor).
I am addicted to using widescreens (even when i switched from my 1600X1200 Sony Vaio to my 17 inch powerbook).
This thing is highly recommended (of course, you could always shoot for the 30 inch, but that wasnt in my budget as it also required an extra $1K along with a vram update in the powerbook.
