Web Development Postcards
My boss sent me a link the other day with web development postcards. There is some really great information nested in each section. Check em and out and let me know what you think!
Here is one of my favorites
Note: I am not anti-flash, I just believe it’s a tool that has it’s place and function.
If you make your entire site Flash-based, you’re throwing your content into a black hole. Search engines can’t read your content, so no one will ever find your site. Updates and maintenance will take longer, visitors have to wait longer to see your content, and won’t be able to make text bigger if they find it hard to read. Grown-up web designers will point and laugh. “It’s like”, they’ll say (if they’re young, trendy and Californian), “so mid-90s”.
Flash has its place, and — if used correctly — can enhance your site, making it just plain gorgeous. Flash is good for animated, interactive objects — you can even feed it XML from your CMS to keep it up-to-date — but it’s not a substitute for HTML & CSS.
